ONEXPLAYER are relatively new to the handheld gaming world, but their latest announcement in their ONEXSUGAR range has come with a humongous bang that's made us sit up and pay close attention. The SUGAR 1 is their dual-screen handheld powered by a Snapdragon G3 Gen 3 processor with movable side controllers for single or dual-screen play. It's perfectly sized for PSP and DS gameplay and could well be one of the most interesting handhelds we've seen.
Speaking in the official press release, ONEXPLAYER say that this is a handheld that's going to 'redefine the mobile gaming experience'. I think we can all agree that those are bold words, but with its modular joystick system and the powerful Snapdragon G3 Gen 3 and Adreno A32 GPU hidden away inside, not to mention the fact that it's essentially a transformer, I think they could be right!
The SUGAR 1 boasts a 6.01" screen and the second screen comes in at 3.92". Having the ability to switch seamlessly between them and using the screens independently means you've got a great display for almost every console, though as I said above it's definitely one I'll be using for DS games. While playing DS titles on handhelds like the TRIMUI Brick, is possible, having to keep swapping screens to see what's going on really isn't ideal.
