Oblivion Remastered Is Coming To Switch 2 With A Physical Cart

Oblivion Remastered Is Coming To Switch 2 With A Physical Cart

One of Bethesda's greatest games had a remaster on PC, Xbox and PS5 last year, and although it went down well with many gamers, it has been riddled with bugs since launch. Many are waiting for these bugs to be ironed out by now.

So the news that Bethesda are bringing this remaster to Nintendo Switch 2 rattled a lot of people, and also pleased a lot of people too because let's face it, Oblivion is an absolute classic that needs to be experienced by every RPG fan at least once in their lives. And now that can be experienced on a remarkable handheld device.

It was announced in video form across Bethesda's social channels, including a YouTube video sharing that it will be available on the 11th August 2026, and is now available to pre-order for £49.99 via Nintendo's website. It comes in both standard edition, which is digital only, and a deluxe edition that is phyiscal, with a cart that has the entire game on it. Heck yeah.

What will the deluxe edition include?

  • Physical cartridge containing the full base game
  • Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine story expansions
  • Additional downloadable content: Fighter’s Stronghold, Spell Tomes, Vile Lair, Mehrune’s Razor, The Thieves Den, Wizard’s Tower, The Orrery and the Horse Armor Pack.
  • A code that grants access to Unique digital Akatosh and Mehrunes Dagon Armors, Weapons and Horse Armor Sets

We're excited to see this game on Nintendo Switch 2, and pray that Bethesda has indeed ironed out the bugs on other consoles. It's also been revealed that DLSS has been implemented, with a confirmed 900p/30fps resolution on handheld and 1080p/30fps docked, according to NintendoLife.

We have a little while to wait, but it's coming, and we're chuffed that Bethesda went against their original plan of putting a code in a box, and instead saw the backlash and have now decided to do a full phyiscal release for the deluxe edition of Oblivion Remastered.
