Nintendo is going fast and loose when it comes to releasing new products and services at the minute. It’s almost as if they’re k keeping us occupied till the release of the Nintendo Switch 2 with cool apps and gadgets. In the past few weeks alone we’ve had Alarmo, Pokémon TCGP, and now the Nintendo Music App, a new app that lets you relive the best moments of gaming history through the epic soundtracks that accompanied tough battles, poignant scenes, and epic adventures.

Nintendo Music is a free app that spans generations from the NES to the Switch. It’s essentially Spotify for gamers, and it’s amazing! The app is available now as you can see from the featured image on this article, and I’ve been typing this article while listening to some tunes from Ocarina of Time, immersing myself in the incredible score written by Composer Koji Kondo.

To use the service, you just need a Nintendo Online login, though most of you reading this article should have that already. Download music for listening offline, set timers for up to 60 minutes, and create playlists to keep you going while at the gym, on a walk, or just while kicking back on the sofa. Pick tunes based on your favourite consoles, characters, or games!

The full list of games so far is as follows:

  • NES: Metroid, Super Mario Bros.
  • SNES: Donkey Kong Country, Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island
  • Game Boy: Dr. Mario, Kirby’s Dream Land
  • N64: Lylat Wars, Ocarina of Time
  • GBA: Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade
  • GameCube: Metroid Prime
  • Nintendo DS: Nintendogs, Tomodachi Collection
  • Wii: Wii Channels (yes, you can play the iconic tune on repeat!), Super Mario Galaxy
  • Switch: Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Kirby Star Allies, Pikmin 4, Pokémon Scarlet/Violet, Splatoon 3, Breath of the Wild, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Super Mario Odyssey
