Netflix and Chillidogs: Sonic Mania Plus Is Coming To Mobile

The incredible Sonic Mania Plus is coming to mobile exclusively on Netflix games as revealed in a press release by the streaming giant.

Netflix’s Vice President of Games Mike Verdu unveiled the news yesterday in the press release that also celebrated several milestones the company has accomplished since entering the gaming space two years ago.

People who subscribe to Netflix will be able to access the game at no extra cost on their Android phones, iPhones or iPad.

Sonic Mania Plus on Netflix will also be ad-free, which is a relief as speeding through Studiopolis while an advert for Squid Game pops up sounds less than ideal!

Sonic Mania Plus

Sonic Mania Plus isn’t the only high profile game coming to Netflix as Grand Theft Auto Trilogy – The Definitive Edition lands on the platform today.

And Sonic Mania Plus won’t even be the first time the Blue Blur has appeared exclusively Netlfix with TV show Sonic Prime awaiting to launch its third season in January 2024.

More Games Coming To Netflix In 2024

Here’s a list of all the upcoming titles from yesterday’s Netflix press release:

  • Cozy Grove: Camp Spirit
  • FashionVerse
  • Game Dev Tycoon
  • Sonic Mania Plus
  • Braid: Anniversary Edition
  • Chicken Run: Eggstraction
  • The Dragon Prince: Xadia
  • Dumb Ways to Survive
  • Hades
  • Harmonium: The Musical
  • Katana Zero
  • Money Heist: Ultimate Choice
  • Monument Valley 1 & 2
  • Netflix Stories: Virgin River
  • Paper Trail
  • The Rise Of The Golden Idol
  • An untitled four player co-op action game set in the ‘Rebel Moon’ universe
  • A game based on the TV show ‘Squid Game’

The standout title for retro gaming enthusiasts on Netflix is clearly Sonic Mania Plus. Fans of gorgeous pixel art and synthwave may also be interested in Katana Zero. My personal pick from the rest of the games heading to Netflix in 2024 is the fantastic rogue-like, Hades.

I personally can’t wait to play Sonic Mania Plus all over again when it launches on Netflix next year. The game a triumphant mix of old and new and is considered, at least by us, as one of the best 2D platform games of all time.
