While we've all been getting excited about the arrival of the M64 and testing out the launch games and their Trident controller of late, I've definitely been guilty of not picking up my Chromatic. And while we've all been diving into Xibalba 64 and reliving Buck Bumble, ModRetro decided to sneakily shadowdrop two awesome games for the Chromatic and Game Boy as part of their Classics Collection. Talk about a nice surprise!

  • Price - $44.99/£41.00/€48,95
  • Compatible with - ModRetro Chromatic/Game Boy/Came Boy Colour/Analogue Pocket
  • Grab Rayman - ModRetro Website
  • Purchase Earthworm Jim - ModRetro Website

I woke up this morning to discover that Rayman 2 Forever and the mighty Earthworm Jim have been released and are available to purchase from ModRetro's website, all without any build-up or marketing. I love a sneaky shadow drop!

The first Rayman released on the Chromatic almost a year ago, back in September 2025 on a purple cartridge. Rayman 2 comes to us on a yellow cartridge with a new Chromatic charm, as well as the full colour booklet and box.

But it's Earthworm Jim that I'm most excited about. This game was one of the weirdest titles I played as a kid, and it's still got a special place in my heart at the age of 36. While Rayman 2 is in colour, Earthworm Jim plays in the traditional DGM green-hue graphics that we all know from yesteryear and comes on a standard grey cart. This could well be my favourite Chromatic Charm too!

Rayman 2 has been enhanced with a whole new soundtrack, which is no easy task! Earthworm Jim now has auto-save (thank goodness) and level select, making it much easier to get through the game!
