It has been a long time coming, the first leaks of the Miyoo Flip was back in October 2023, now over a year later we can finally pre-order it and expect shipping to begin on the 5th January. It has been officially listed on AliExpress by Miyoo themselves.
i did see that it has made its way to Amazon before the official announcement but I didn’t want to cover it or shine light on it as its a third party who has listed it, which will likely mean higher price and slower shipping times.
So, if you want the cheapest, fastest and safest option, I advise heading to Miyoo’s official AliExpress store to pre-order it on the 30th December 4pm Beijing Time. The Miyoo Flip will sell for approximately £64/$78. For those who need a hand converting the times:
- UTC (Coordinated Universal Time): 8 AM
- EST (Eastern Standard Time, UTC-5): 11 PM (29th December)
- CST (Central Standard Time, UTC-6): 10 PM (29th December)
- PST (Pacific Standard Time, UTC-8): 8 PM (29th December)
- GMT (Greenwich Mean Time): 8 AM
- IST (Indian Standard Time, UTC+5:30): 6:30 PM
- AEDT (Australian Eastern Daylight Time, UTC+11): 7 PM
According to Miyoo, those who pre-order will receive their units between January 5th and January 12th, and via their X account they even stated that “we will also release batches faster than in previous occasions”. Which makes me believe they are more prepared than before, as I remember their Miyoo Mini’s and Mini Plus supplies being a little flakey.
What is a Miyoo Flip?
If you’re new to the Miyoo Flip, then let me quickly explain is I believe it’s going to be a very popular retro handheld emulator that will rival the loved ANBERNIC RG35XXSP, and may even be on of the best retro handhelds of 2025 for those wanting a clamshell device.
Miyoo are renowned for making some pretty great devices, the best being the Miyoo Mini. Now they want to create a larger, but still portable clamshell device that looks like the Game Boy Advance SP with enough power to emulate most consoles up to Nintendo 64, Dreamcast and maybe even a few Gamecube games too thanks to the 1.8Ghz Quad-Core Cortex-A55 CPU.
I don’t doubt that this will be a great device, if built as carefully as their Mini handhelds. It sleeps and wakes upon opening, features two joysticks, a vibration motor, a 3.5″ 640 x 480 display and a 3000MAH battery pack. It’s not incredibly powerful, but enough to do what most retro gamers want it to do.

It can also connect directly to your HD TV via the HDMI out, and can connect to wireless controllers to be used as a portable home console. I am also hoping that Miyoo ships this with a clean front-end that can be used by newcomers and customised heavily for the enthusiasts.
I will get my hands on one to review, so be sure to come back in a few weeks to see my thoughts.
