Update: 10/03/2025 16:00 - Nintendo have officially announced the Mario Kart LEGO set with a release date of May 15th. Check out the official release video below

I woke up this morning ready for some exciting Mario-related announcements already doing the rounds on the internet, and I wasn't disappointed. While the Mario Kart LEGO collab was announced back in 2024, I don't think I was quite prepared for how amazing this Mario Standard Kart set looks, and it's all thanks to an Australian shop putting it up early by accident. Some heroes don't wear capes, they're just eager!

Thanks to Vooks, we know that an Australian store revealed the set and took it down shortly after. It will cost $249.99 AUD which works out to around $156 USD and Ā£121 and comes with 1,972 pieces and a stand to show it off at the perfect angle.

This is an 18+ set too just like the Shadow the Hedgehog set I covered and follows the trend of kits for adult collectors to make and display instead of as children's toys. I imagine we'll hear more about when this set officially releases later on today, and I'll update this article with official news as it arrives!
