It's a brilliant time to be an N64 fan. First, we got the 3D before Christmas, and we're getting the M64 this year. There are new games being released for the system by indie creators, as well as recompiled versions of games that never released. And now, my favourite games are appearing on systems that I never thought possible.
If you've been following my coverage of the recent N64 ports, then you'll know that Nintendo's big hitters have been getting native ports on multiple systems after being recompiled. We've had Mario Kart 64 on the PC, and we've even had someone getting Ocarina of Time working on the Dreamcast.

If you were a die-hard Nintendoid back in the 90s, then reading about a Zelda game on a Sony system might still feel a little sacrilegious. It's the reason we bought Nintendo products back in the day, to play those exclusive games that separated the N64 from the PS1. I never in a million years thought I would see Majora's Mask, one of my most coveted N64 games, heading to the PS Vita, but here we are!
Avid N64 lover Rinnegatamante has already brought Ocarina of Time and Perfect Dark to the PS Vita to great success. Now, Majora's Mask joins his growing collection, running natively on both the Vita and PSTV hardware. According to the ReCollect64 Blog on GitHub, Rinnegatamante has used the 2Ship2Harkinian build from Harbour Masters, who you'll know from the Ship of Harkinian Ocarina of Time ROM hack, to create this Vita port.
Rinnegatamante has stated that there are lots of improvements to come to the Vita port too over the coming months, and has also hinted that Super Mario 64 and Mario Kart 64 could be next on their list to bring to the handheld! Keep your eyes peeled for more information on those as and when I get it, and head to GitHub to find out more!
