I'm a huge fan of all the LEGO sets that the Danish block-building giants have created for us nerdy retro gamers, though this Mario Kart set featuring everyone's favourite moustachioed plumber could perhaps be my favourite.

My love for Mario Kart goes all the way back to the day I got my N64 and Mario Kart 64 for Christmas, so you could say it was the game that kickstarted my love of Nintendo and would eventually lead to me writing this article!

Usually priced at £149.99, the LEGO Mario Kart set is currently priced at £124.99 on Amazon UK. That's a saving of £25, and if you live in the UK and know your Tesco adverts, you already know that 'every little helps' when it gets closer to Christmas time.

This is a set for adults rather than children - it's not a toy, but rather a display piece to be placed proudly next to your TV or on a shelf in your gaming cave. Mario's arms and head are movable, and at 1,972 pieces, it provides a nice challenge for the Mario Kart fan in your life. Plus it's incredibly detailed too and looks like Mazza could actually zoom off your shelf and chase after the dog whenever you're not looking!

Grab this deal while you can from Amazon UK - don't let it zoom past you!
