How to Evolve Kadabra in Pokemon Legends: Arceus

how to evolve kadabra in pokemon legends arceus

Though Pokemon Legends: Arceus is set in the Pokemon universe’s past, some things never change: Abra – and its evolved form, Kadabra – can be tricky to catch, with their tendency to teleport away from imminent danger. This was also the case in previous Pokemon games, often making them highly sought after creatures!

Though the method of catching Pokemon has changed quite a bit in Pokemon Legends: Arceus, Abra is just as likely to teleport away from you in this game – but we’re here to help you not only catch an Abra (or Kadabra), but also to evolve them into their final form, the glorious Alakazam!

Where to find and how to catch Abra?

Abra can be found in a relatively small number of locations: the Windswept Run or Sandgem Flats in Obsidian Fieldlands and Lake Acuity in the Alabaster Icelands. Due to Abra’s aforementioned likelihood of teleporting away before you have a chance to catch it, we’d advise throwing Spoiled Apricorns near it to reduce the chance of it making a getaway.

Evolving Abra is easy: just train it to Level 16 and you can then evolve it into Kadabra!

Where to find Kadabra in Pokemon Legends: Arceus?

You could of course ignore the need to evolve Abra and skip straight to Kadabra, but be warned that they’re even rarer than Abra – only being found in the Sandgem Flats or Lake Acuity. Once more, we’d recommend using Spoiled Apricorns to make catching your Kadabra a bit easier.

How to evolve Kadabra In Pokemon Legends: Arceus?

Just as evolving Machoke requires the Linking Cord, (see our guide on How to Evolve Machoke in Pokemon Legends Arceus) evolving Kadabra also requires the use of the same item. To use it, simply select the Linking Cord from your inventory and use it on your Kadabra. That’s all you need to do to get yourself an Alakazam, but you’ll need to have that Linking Cord in the first place of course – so let’s go through how you can get one.

Where to get the Linking Cord?

Perhaps the easiest method of getting a Linking Cord is in Simona’s shop in Jubilife Village (for 1000 MP). There’s a request that you can complete to get one too (see below!) or finally, you might find one from a random spawn in a Space-Time Distortion; if lightning strikes the ground, a random item will spawn – with the chance that this item could be the Linking Cord.

What request do I need to complete for the Linking Cord?

After you’ve completed Mission 10, you can speak with Ward in Jubilife Village; he’ll give you the request ‘Getting to Know Ghosts’. This requires you to complete the Pokedex entry for Gastly; once you’ve done this and returned to Ward, he’ll give you the Linking Cord.

So there you have it: that’s just about everything you need to know in order to evolve your Kadabra into an Alakazam in Pokemon Legends Arceus.

Good luck on your quest to catch ‘em all!
