How To Do A Hyper Strike In Mario Strikers Battle League

If you want to make Mario play like Messi, then you need to know how to do a hyper strike in Mario Strikers Battle League.

Yes, Nintendo have brought another exciting Mario multiplayer to the Nintendo Switch, bringing all the mayhem and carnage of the Mushroom Kingdom to the football ground.

That’s soccer for our American readers!

As always, the Mario crew have the ability to pull off incredible moves that make Maradona’s ‘hand of god’ look incredibly mundane.

And let’s face it, there’s a heck of a lot more cheating in battle league for players to be worrying about.

So, without further ado, let’s discover how to do a hyper strike in Mario Strikers Battle League and get this show on the road!

How Do I Hyper Strike In Mario Strikers Battle League?

To pull off a successful hyper strike, you’re going to have to run into a strike orb and have lightening fast reflexes.

Remember the power bar from Mario Golf on the GameCube? Well, it’s making an appearance once again in Mario Strikers Battle League.

Players need to press the A button when their moving pointer hits the blue segment at either end of the power bar.

Essentially:

  • Blue is maximum power
  • Orange is good
  • Black isn’t going to cut the mustard.

By hitting square in the blue segments, your character will successfully pull off a powerful hyper strike, and the gameplay will cut to a little cinematic that’s special to each character.

Each player has a cool move too, a little like the fatalities in Mortal Kombat but without all the blood… gore… and general terror.

Hyper strikes bring your team two points, so if you can pull one off successfully, it’s an easy way of getting ahead of the opposition.

Where To Find A Strike Orbs

Strike orbs appear on the pitch during a match. All players have to do is to run into them and their whole team can perform a hyper strike.

The catch; the other team can run into them as well.

You didn’t think it would be that easy, did you?

Players only have a limited amount of time to pull off a hyper strike before the strike orb wears off, so make it count!

And remember, you can only shoot in the opposition’s half.

Do Hyper Strikes Always Work?

Hyper strikes don’t always work; sometimes the result goes in the goalie’s favour.

If you don’t hit the blue segments of your power bar, then there’s less of a chance of the ball going in. You might get lucky, but most of the time the ball will stay in play and be thrown back out for you to have another shot.

Unless the other team intercepts, of course.

Remember – different characters have different-sized blue areas in their power bars depending on their technique level. Bowser is a bit of a big bruiser with little technique, so it’s much harder to pull off a successful hyper strike than it is with say Peach or Mario.

And that’s a wrap!

Thanks for checking out this article on how to do a hyper strike in Super Mario Battle League. Hopefully now you’ve got enough information to get ahead of the game and beat your mates once and for all.
