For anyone who played Golden Axe in the 90s and spent hours taking Tyris, Ax, and Gilius on a quest to kill Death Adder, then this news is going to feel like Christmas has come early. Yes, there's a new Golden Axe series coming to, and it has so many nods to the classic game that you can tell it's been made by people who know it inside out.
From the character selection spin to Tyris shouting 'Seeeegaaaaa, it's a comical yet accurate representation of the game that fans are going to absolutely lap up. Ax Battler is, as you might expect, a little dim-witted, and Gilus is just as funny as I imagined he would be. The trio set off on an adventure through Yuria to defeat the infamous Death Adder and 'kill him for good, till he's dead, all the way.'

The new series releases on Paramount+ on September 16th, which I'm very excited about. I wouldn't be surprised if Sega released their Golden Axe revival game either during or after this series too. With visuals and writing this good, they would be mad not to capitalise on it and tap into our nostalgia!
