The Nintendo Direct was pretty action-packed when it came to announcements, and fans around the world have been rejoicing over the return of some of our favourite series. Fire Emblem has been a big hitter for Nintendo for years now, and now it's back with a new title, Fortune's Weave, and an intriguing four-way story that sees four characters embarking on their own adventures.

Welcome to the Dagdan Empire and the Heroic Games. Fighters from across the empire have come here for one purpose - to win and get their wish granted. There are four heroes - Kai, Dietrich, Theadora, and Leda. All four characters have their own reasons for wanting to win, their own desires driving them to victory, and each gives you a different way to play the game.

Players will need to train their fighter and allies through a series of battles across the world, levelling up in turn-based battles the likes of which you've come to know and love from the Fire Emblem series. I like the fact that each of the characters has their own unique technique too, changing the way you think about battling depending on which character you pick.

From what I've picked up from the Nintendo Direct, the narrative sounds pretty immersive and will make me want to ride into battle myself, albeit an imaginary one in my living room. The graphics look slick, the cut-scenes grand. All in all, it looks like a worthy addition to the Fire Emblem collection!

Fortune's Weave is set to launch on September 17th, 2026, in both Standard and Special editions. The Dagdan collection comes with an art book, a SteelBook case, art cards, a map of Dagda, and a special collectors' box to house it all. I don't have any information about prices yet, but I'll be sure to update you all once I do!
