Two years ago, Liam Flannery quit his job and started making games. That's a pretty daunting thing to consider, giving up your job and not really having a full-time plan. I did the same thing when I went to live in a camper van back in 2018, and now I'm here writing to you guys because of it. So Liam, if you're reading this, I applaud your courage.

Now, Liam has released his first game, Factory 95. If you grew up playing PC games in the 90s and using the little Microsoft Word paperclip guy to help you format stuff, then you'll be all over this. The game sees you building PowerPoint factories, managing space, making complex slides, and 'worrying about Y2K', with versions for Windows, Mac, and Steam.

For retro fans, it's a chance to step into the past on modern machines. For new gamers, it's a chance to experience what retro operating systems were like, all while downloading new tools from this thing called the 'World Wide Web' to help you earn money for your company.

I've had a quick go at the demo on my Mac. It's very fast-paced and mind-boggling, two things that suit my brain very well, and I'm looking forward to putting some more time into Factory 95 and seeing how well my retro senses cope with this intriguing game. Having a demo is always an inviting prospect as it allows you to 'try before you buy', with most people ending up buying because of it.

And you know what, I can tell Liam has had fun making this game. You can tell that he's poured his love of the 90s into this title, his love of retro systems, and a whole load of love for automation games. There's nothing better than seeing a game from a dev who has put their heart and soul into it!

You can purchase the full game of Factory 95 now with 20% off for £7.97/$7.99 from the Steam store!
