Today, on the 26th of June, the Ecco the Dolphin team and lead developer Ed Annunziata himself held a livestream on Discord, answering questions from their community about the upcoming Ecco the Dolphin remake that we are all waiting for, and it looks like we have to wait until July 21st for the website countdown to finish.

One of the first questions asked by Ed's community was, "Will we actually see Ecco The Dolphin 3 and will the success and sales of the Remake change that?". It was asked by Discord user Etendree3000 before stating that he's been waiting for it "most of his life".

It was a good question, and Ed immediately shared a range of comments. It was clear that he's not deep in the development of the game yet, stating that sales of the remake would only alter the depth and scale of Ecco the Dolphin 3, but would not stop him from making it if the remaster doesn't do well.

"I'm doing it no matter what. I'm 63, I'm still young, I got enough time. I'll find a way, I guarantee it, before I kick the bucket".

Ed was very enthusiastic about the game, even though no new news has been mentioned since revealing that he and his team are working on the upcoming remaster, and as he stated, it's going to happen no matter what.

If sales are great for the remaster collection that's eventually coming out, it will alter how Ecco the Dolphin 3 is developed in terms of scale, but that's as far as Ed went with this question. All of his focus is on the Ecco the Dolphin Complete remaster.
