We all remember Minesweeper from the 90s. Honestly, as a kid messing around on computers at primary school, I had no idea what it was. I still didn't really get it when I was at secondary school either. It was one of those games that adults played, and I wasn't an adult, so I didn't really care.

I am an adult now, and I understand and love a bit of classic Minesweeper. Having said that, I also love Wordle and Sudoku, so there's no surprise there. If you've never played it, it's a game where you have to clear a screen by opening up cells, leaving mines behind. The numbers you reveal tell you whether a mine is nearby or not. If you click on a mine (like I did below while playing online), then it's game over.

If you've never seen the grid before, then now you know what it looks like. And the LEGO version built by carlos_silva94 recreates the classic display, mine count, and numbers from the 90s original. I know it might not be the typical video game that we cover here at Retro Dodo, but it's a piece of video game history nonetheless.

And the best bit is that you can actually create your own custom puzzles too. You can get someone to set up the mines for you or vice versa and actually play LEGO Minesweeper. Ok, it's not the LEGO Star Wars games, but it's still cool!

As with all LEGO Ideas designs, this build has to reach 10,000 supporters before it's considered by the LEGO Ideas judges. It currently has 550 days to get to that point, so there's a strong chance it could happen! You can show your support for free over on the LEGO Ideas website!
