You know we love a good remake here at Retro Dodo, and the news of a Brothers: A Tale Of Two Sons Remake heading our way has us primed for some nostalgic teamwork action.
This game was a work of art and definitely inspiration for some of the best PS4 Co-op games that we love playing today. I definitely don’t think we’d have titles like It Takes Two without it!
But where has this news come from? Is it reliable, and do we know when the title is being announced?
Here’s what we know!
An Unbreakable Bond
These two brothers have been through a lot over the years. First dropping in 2013, their story has captured the hearts and minds of players everywhere over multiple consoles, and a new announcement from billbil-kun exclaims that we’re getting a remake incredibly soon.
The game awards is happening while most of us Brits are going to be asleep, but the new remake is hotly anticipated to arrive tonight while we’re in the land of nod.
For those of you that don’t know, billbil-kun is on the money 9 times out of 10 when it comes to game announcements, and while we don’t have an official release date, other sources on the net also seem to point to an announcement later today.
Twitter users have posted shots of a countdown on the Brothers the game website, though the link now takes us to a page where you have to sign in for more information.
Perhaps the countdown wasn’t supposed to be public knowledge just yet, or maybe it was only meant for internal eyes.
The main news is that 505 will be making the game again just as they did with the original 10 years ago.
10 Years Of Brothers
Can you believe it’s been 10 years since this game came out? Now we feel super old!
If you’ve not played Brother’s before, then you’re in for a real treat. Players take two siblings out on an adventure together in a game with zero speech. They must save their father by working together to overcome obstacles, avoid enemies, and cover dangerous terrain on their journey.
The game is the brainchild of Josef Fares, a Swedish film director whose brain is filled with fantasy and wonder.
A brothers Remake on the PS5 and Xbox Series X would blow us all away. We’re hoping for crisp new visuals, remastered graphics, and maybe some new levels and content for old fans to get excited about.
The game awards is coming up at around 1am GMT time, but the promise of a Brothers: Tale of Two Sons remake being announced is more than enough to keep the Retro Dodo team awake. It might even shadow drop just like Metroid Prime Remastered did and be available to buy straight away!
Only time will tell, however, so check back tomorrow to see whether it was announced at the game awards!
