ANBERNIC's latest handheld, known as the RG55G1, has been in the works for a while now and has been revealed more slowly than normal, but the specifications are finally here for this Switch Lite lookalike. The specifications were hidden deep in their latest YouTube video. It's not on their website, and it's not been mentioned on social media, which is a little peculiar.
Average retro gamers who are intrigued by their upcoming console may not be subscribed to their YouTube channel, so it's odd to see ANBERNIC take their time yet again on sharing the specifications of this device on their website, socials or even newsletter subscribers. YouTubers are already getting their hands on this device before ANBERNIC has even made a landing page themselves!

For those wondering this seems to be a very "mid-range" Android handheld, not one that's likely going to compete with the likes of the Retroid Pocke 6, but instead offer up to Dreamcast, Gamecube and Nintendo 64 emulation on a widescreen device with some modern hardware touches such as the glass front, hall-joysticks and comfortable ergonomics.
And this lines up with what Retro Game Corps mentioned, a YouTuber who was sent a review unit earlier than most. His findings are that this can emulate smaller 2D-based PlayStation 2 games, but it starts to struggle when you try to emulate larger, 3D PlayStation 2 games, which is like many handhelds on the market at the moment.
As of now, we don't know the pricing of this device or the release date, but it's likely to be officially announced very soon with a fast turnaround, so I would guess in the next few weeks!
