Yu-Gi-Oh fans will undoubtedly have February 27th firmly secured in their calendars. It’s the day the Early Days Collection finally releases, and it feels like we’ve already waited a lifetime to get our hands on the compendium of retro games from the series. The complete list of games has remained a tight-lipped secret, however, until now. It seems that someone has got hold of a retail copy of the box with the full list on, though where from remains a mystery.
If I were Konami, I would have had the boxes under lock and key until nearer the time, but I guess leakers always have ways to get secrets out to the community. Don’t get me wrong, I’m very excited to have the full list, but it seems like a bit of a ‘drop the ball situation’ on Konami’s part. Perhaps the ‘leak’ is there to get people excited for the release and isn’t actually a leak at all, something that Chinese handheld companies tend to do ‘accidentally’ quite a lot. At least if they aren’t accidentally, then they could probably do with getting some new staff!

A picture posted by Kuthik1 on X shows the back of a Nintendo Switch box that lists each of the fourteen games Yu-Gi-Oh! game in the Early Days collection. It’s important to note before I go any further that Konami hasn’t actually confirmed the full collection yet, but as long as this box is genuine, then this looks like it could well be the final list of titles. We’ve known about at least five of these since we wrote our article about the collection coming with a Promo Card, but the other nine would be a very nice surprise indeed.

If you know your Game Boy games and Yugi’s back catalogue like the back of your hand, then you’ll know that the list above only has handheld games in it. Like Peter Jackson dragging the Hobbit out into 3 movies, I think Konami will have further Yu-Gi-Oh! collection releases on the cards, perhaps releasing a home console collection next if sales of the Early Days Collection go well. There are 56 games in total, 20 of which were made for home consoles, so there’s definitely scope for future releases. I want The Duelists of the Roses and Falsebound Kingdom on the next one for sure!
