There has been a lot of speculation about the upcoming Pokémon smart play sets of late. We've seen lots of leaks, lots of product box images, and websites accidentally putting up the sets for pre-order ahead of time. We've seen hints of names and images being taken down by LEGO HQ, but now all of the Pokémon sets that LEGO are releasing in their first wave have officially been announced on the LEGO website.

There are 11 new sets available, with prices ranging from $14.99/£12.99 through to $119.99/£109.99:
- SMART Play™: Charizard vs. Jolteon Ultimate Battle - $119.99/£109.99 - 751 pieces

Some of the sets, like Charizard vs. Jolteon Ultimate Battle and Training House with Pikachu are all-in-one Smart Play sets. The other sets are Smart Play compatible, meaning you'll need a Smart Play set for them to interact with.

How cool is this? Shake to wake, train to power up - it's bringing the Kanto evolutions to life through the form of LEGO, and I couldn't be happier about it. At least Charizard is much cheaper in this set too, unlike the £579 set with him, Blastoise, and Venusaur!
I love the little touches like the miniature Poké Balls in these sets too, especially as we've got Poké, Great, Ultra, and the Master Ball represented in the various sets.

While I love all of the sets, even the simple Jigglypuff concert set that would take about 15 minutes to build, Mewtwo's Lab Break is undoubtedly the best. It takes me back to watching the Pokémon movie for the first time and the first time I caught Mewtwo in Pokémon Red. Those were the days!
