It’s no secret that we’re incredibly excited about Croc: Legend of the Gobbos getting a remaster after releasing almost 30 years ago. Croc played a huge part in our childhoods, rescuing the Gobbos on the PS1 and tail-whipping our way through fascinating levels – it’s a game we think back on fondly and one that definitely defines Brandon’s thoughts about Christmas!
Well, as we get closer to a release date for Croc’s return, the newly reformed Argonaut Games has announced that the game is heading to all major consoles including Nintendo Switch, PS5, PS4, Xbox X/S, Xbox One, and as an extra surprise, on PC via GOG! Yes, Croc is literally covering all bases by appearing on every format going including those who still haven’t upgraded to Sony and Xbox’s newest machines, meaning that whichever system you play on, you’ll be able to enjoy Croc’s remastered outing in all its glory.

Legend of the Gobbos released on the Sega Saturn and Microsoft Windows back in 1998, but it’s the first time the game has come to a Nintendo console in this guise, joining the Game Boy ‘Croc’ and ‘Croc 2’ titles from 2000 & 2001 respectively.
We knew the consoles were always going to get covered, but having Croc heading back to Windows PCs via GOG is great news. In fact, purchasing through GOG allows users to also get the classic version of Croc with the new game, meaning you can swap and change when you’re feeling extra nostalgic. And in a world of ‘purchasing licenses’ and not owning games, GOG makes sure that you’ll own your version of Croc without any restrictions. You’ve got enough to worry about with defeating Baron Dante than stressing about not owning your game!
“Croc represents the heart of our mission: preserving and celebrating the legacy of gaming, said Bartosz Kwietniewski, Head of Business Development at GOG, “by offering both the classic and the remastered versions in one package and keeping all our games DRM-free, we’re ensuring that players not only relive the magic but have the true sense of ownership, as well. We’re the ultimate destination for gamers who want to experience timeless classics as they were meant to be played, and we couldn’t be happier for Croc to become a part of this adventure.”
