LEGO has revealed two new LEGO Animal Crossing sets and several new minifigures ahead of their launch on the 1st August 2024.
Building on the success of the previous Animal Crossing LEGO collaboration, the new sets feature two iconic locations from Animal Crossing New Horizons; the Town Hall and Dodo Airlines.
LEGO revealed the new additions to the Animal Crossing range in a short teaser video posted on Twitter. The teaser sees legendary Animal Crossing singer/songwriter K.K Slider performing a spot lit rendition of one of his songs while the camera pans around the loveable hound. Hilariously, LEGO felt the need to add a disclaimer to K.K Slider’s performance confirming that the minifigure “doesn’t actually sing or move”.
For LEGO aficionados, the sets are officially dubbed ‘77051 Fly with Dodo Airlines’ and ‘77052 K.K.’s Concert at the Plaza’.
Fly with Dodo Airlines ships with 292 pieces, allowing fans to create their own version of the DAL Dock, accompanied by minifigures for pilot Wilbur and ‘citrus-inspired’ cat Tangy. By comparison, K.K.’s Concert at the Plaza packs in 550 pieces for its recreation of Animal Crossing’s Town Hall, which also includes a stage for K.K Slider, his gig van and minifigures of the titular musical mutt, Isabelle and Audie the Wolf.
Crossing Costs
LEGO have yet to reveal pricing information for the Animal Crossing Town Hall or Dodo Airlines sets just yet, but we now know the European pricing thanks to German retailer Lucky Bricks (via Brickfanatics). Fly with Dodo Airlines and K.K.’s Concert at the Plaza will retail for €37.99 and €79.99 respectively. K.K.’s Concert at the Plaza will now overtake ‘Nook’s Cranny & Rosie’s House’ as the most expensive LEGO Animal Crossing set in the range based on Nintendo’s cosy life-sim.
Interestingly, both sets are currently available for a discounted rate at Lucky Bricks, with Dodo Airlines listed for just €28,49, almost €10 cheaper than it’s RRP and Lucky Bricks offer a saving of over €20 on K.K.’s Concert at the Plaza at €59,95.
