Regular readers will know how much I love The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. It’s one of the first games I fell in love with at seven years old and has continued to fuel my love of gaming ever since.

I didn’t think it could be beaten as the greatest Zelda game ever to come out of Nintendo H.Q, until Breath of the Wild dropped, that is. And then Tears of the Kingdom added even more excitement into the mix, and now Zelda has transcended into a whole new realm that we never thought possible.

One modder has taken my favourite franchise one step further, however, making the holy triforce of Zelda games and combining Ocarina, Tears of The Kingdom, and Super Smash Bros together in a mod called the Ship Of Harkinian.

And yes, it’s as amazing as you would imagine.

We’ve covered Captain Falcon making an appearance in other N64 ROM hacks over the years, though he’s never given his famous move to another character willingly (Kirby has definitely stolen it a couple of times, however).

As you can see from the items list above, modder hotCHase has included the iconic Falcon Punch move, Star Fox Mask, Ultrahand, and a Smash Bros. jump. Players can also use a lantern, the glider from Tears of the Kingdom, and Samus’ charge beam to blow back enemies.

It’s not just enemies that can feel your wrath, however. Nintendo Life covered Link using Falcon Punch to attack the annoying guard that stops you from going up through Death Mountain without a Hylian Shield, and we’ve since found clips of Link using it on Mido and King Zora too.

Come on, we’ve all wanted to punch them out of the way before, right?

A Helping Ultrahand

notCHase has made a sort of demake of Tears of the Kingdom element in this mod by including the Ultrahand item. And amazingly, you can actually see a detailed version of the Ultrahand too.

And while there isn’t a large beam going from the hand to the item you’re trying to move, it does allow you to move objects and fuse them together. You can even move Mido too using it.

I know I’m hating on Mido, but that guy really is annoying!

The latest video on the notCHase YouTube Channel sees Link shield surfing like in BotW and TotK, moving through Hyrule Field in style and covering distances way quicker.

He looks a little like Tony Hawk in that clip above; maybe he’s trying to pull off some slick moves to impress Zelda, or perhaps he’s thinking he can beat Ganondorf just by being gnarly.

The other item we’ve seen in use is the Star Fox Mask, which allows users to pull off the Reflector or Shine move, essentially shielding them from attacks and attacking enemies at the same time.

Why bother with a Hylian shield when you can pull this bad boy out?

Honestly, this mod is a work of art, and you can tell that notCHase has poured all of their love for Nintendo into it. I’m thinking about who else we’d like to use Falcon Punch on now in different Zelda games… maybe that snotty-nosed-kid from The Wind Waker?
