Turok 3: Shadow Of Oblivion Remastered is out in the wild and available to purchase on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch consoles.
Announced at this year’s Gamescom in Cologne, Turok 3: Shadow Of Oblivion Remastered features support for improved framerates and higher display resolutions. The game will now run with up to 4K native resolution and at a buttery smooth 120FPS on current-gen consoles and PC.
Those extra frames will give players a better fighting chance against those leaping velociraptors!
Turok 3: Shadow Of Oblivion Remastered will bring a bevy of improvements to the game including enhanced lighting and rendering along with high-resolution textures.
For fans of the dinosaur and monster blasting series on PC, the remaster will finally implement gamepad support. The inclusion of gamepad support brings relief to players who bash every key when confronted by a rampaging raptor.
Tyrannosaurus KEX
Originally released for the Nintendo 64 back in 2000, Turok 3: Shadow Of Oblivion Remastered uses developer Nightdive Studios’ proprietary KEX Engine. The N64 original currently sits at a generally favourable score of 77 on Metacritic.
Nightdive Studios have previously given the first two Turok games the remastered treatment with Turok Remastered and Turok 2: Seeds Of Evil Remastered launching in 2015 and 2017 respectively.
Turok 3 is the conclusion to the storyline that began in the original Turok. The story begins immediately after the end of Turok 2: Seeds of Evil and sees protagonists Joseph and Danielle Fireseed battle against Oblivions’ minions and a host of vile nasties.
Nightdive Studios have now completed their Turok Remastered trilogy after being acquired by Atari earlier this year. The studio have been on a hot streak of late with a constant stream of fantastic remasters from the Washington based developers, including the gorgeous Quake 2 Remastered and the critically acclaimed System Shock Remastered.
