A photo showing a new SKU for the Nintendo Switch OLED, bundled together with a digital copy of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, has been doing the rounds on Twitter.

The photo is reportedly from US retailer Walmart, and features the familiar Super Smash Bros. Ultimate keyart above an image of the new Switch OLED console and details about the contents of the bundle. The photo was first shared by DisTrackers and was later retweeted by Wario64.

The console and dock appear to be standard black in colour, without any of the Smash artwork but the Super Smash Joy-Cons from the previous Super Smash Bros. Ultimate bundle make a return.

Much like the the recently announced Mario Kart 8 Switch OLED bundle, the Super Smash Bros. UItimate bundle will also include three months of Nintendo Switch Online.

Last week Nintendo unveiled a new Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Nintendo Switch OLED bundle. Nintendo’s Australian Twitter account confirmed that this new bundle would release on the 24th November 2023.

Switching To Something New

This follows hot on the heels of three more Switch bundles; the Nintendo Switch Sports set and two different Nintendo Switch Lite bundles with Animal Crossing: New Horizons pre-installed. The two Animal Crossing bundles are the ‘Timmy & Tommy Aloha Edition’ and the ‘Isabelle Aloha Edition’, in turquoise and coral colours respectively.

Nintendo has been busy bringing new versions of the Switch to market this year with a new all red Mario themed Switch launching just one month ago.

It’s certainly not surprising to see Nintendo launching these new Switch bundles in time for the holiday season.

In addition to ensuring a plentiful supply of new consoles for gamers to enjoy around Christmas, Nintendo may also be looking to capitalise on the final holiday season before the successor to the incredibly popular Switch is announced.
