8BITDO just revealed one of the coolest retro themed desk accessories I have seen in a long time, and it’s inspired by one of my all time favourite consoles, the original XBOX that released in the early 2000’s. 8BITDO has been a roll with their announcements recently, and after reviewing their 8BITDO Keyboards just a few weeks back I am confident this product will feel remarkable. Today 8BITDO also revealed a new OG XBOX keyboard to partner with this mouse too!
They are calling it the Retro R8, a premium wireless mouse that replicated the iconic green transparent look that we all love, alongside four light up action buttons on the sides that can be mapped to whatever you please, which as you know takes inspiration from the XBOX’s action buttons that have a very unique look to them.
8BITDO partnered with Microsoft to bring this device to reality, and it comes with a multifunctional charging dock that keeps your mouse powered up and docked as if it’s ready to take off. Inside the mouse you’ll find Kailh Sword GM X Micro Switches, engineered for up to 100 million clicks which means you can not only use this for business, but gaming too.
If that didn’t get gamers excited, maybe this will. Inside is also a PAW 3395 sensor which can be toggled between 6 sensitivity levels ranging between 50DPI and 26,000DPI, allowing it to pair well with 125Hz or 8000Hz polling rates. Pretty cool, hey?
And because it has a symmetrical design it can fit both right hand and left hand users without any adjustments. Simply jump into the mouse’s settings and you can change a bunch of settings for your work or gaming needs.
There’s a USB hidden inside the dock too, allowing you to connect this via a USB dongle should you need it too. It’s an incredible looking mouse and one that pairs well with their recently announced keyboard. It’s not 8BITDO’s first time producing a mouse, as they created one that resembled a NES, but by far this looks like a much needed upgraded and one I can’t wait to get my hands on.
Finally this packs a 450MAH battery which can apparently last up to 100 hours on a single charge when using it via Bluetooth.
You can find more information and images about this product on 8BITDO’s website and you pre-orders go live on their Amazon page soon.
