Today’s Nintendo Direct has almost knocked me out in excitement, and totally not the fact that I am the only news writer on shift today…

That said, alongside the Donkey Kong Country Returns remake and the fact Nintendo Switch Online is getting 4 new retro games, this piece of news will certainly excite you arcade gamers out there.

Nintendo has revealed that 7 Marvel VS Capcom games are being made into a “Fighting Collection” for the Nintendo Switch which will be digital and phyiscal, the games include:

  • X-MEN CHILDREN OF THE ATOM
  • MARVEL SUPER HEROES
  • X-MEN VS. STREET FIGHTER
  • MARVEL SUPER HEROES vs. STREET FIGHTER
  • MARVEL vs. CAPCOM CLASH OF SUPER HEROES
  • MARVEL vs. CAPCOM 2 New Age of Heroes
  • THE PUNISHER

This fighting collection will also add some exciting new features, including the original songs from the arcade release, you can view never-before-seen artwork that was in development at the time, you can tweak training settings even more allowing you to launch specials with the press of a single button, and there’s also save states too (in the match) incase you get your butt handed to you and want to retry.

If you want to get competitive you can access the online experience too, fighting friends and foes from around the globe offering a new and nostalgic way to test your retro fighting skills.

From what Nintendo has shown a lot of work has gone into this game, making it easy to navigate alongside a simple yet intuitive refresh of the user experience.

No official release date has been announced yet apart from “2024”, but if I had to guess it will be Q4, just in time for making your family members cry at Christmas after the perfectly timed HADOUKEN!
