Mangmi's latest handhelds are finally here to purchase, known as the AIR Y and the AIR Y Pro, two vertical handhelds packing some serious power, ranging from $89 to $189, both featuring 4.2" displays, Snapdragon processors and good build quality.
The cheaper Air Y has a single analogue stick, and enough power to emulate up to and including Nintendo 64, Dreamcast and PSP very well, whereas the Pro versions come with two joysticks, more power and enough power to emulate GameCube and PlayStation 2 games. Mangmi know how to create good-performing handhelds; that's for sure.
That said, in our full written review that we published last week, we did say that these handhelds lack any kind of magic, the very magic that put their first two handhelds on the radar. It seems like Mangmi missed something here and has therefore created two very "okay" devices in an industry overwhelmed by choice.
That said, if you're on the market for very powerful vertical handhelds with large 4.2" displays, then it's worth taking a deeper look at them because they are good-performing devices overall.
