I think we can all agree that without Pokémon Red and Blue, or Pokémon Red and Green if you grew up in Japan, the world would have been a much more boring place. Pokémon is undoubtedly one of the biggest brands in the world, bringing joy to millions of people all over the globe. But it would have been nothing without those original games, and I'm so glad I grew up playing them on my Yellow Game Boy DMG and taking my team of Pocket Monsters everywhere with me.

To celebrate 30 years of Pokémon, Uniqlo have announced their second Pokémon collection, with monochrome designs based on the original games. They're super simple, taking the designs from the Game Boy games and blowing them up for super nerds like me to show off their love for all things Kanto, and they look amazing.

There are four adult tee designs, three of which you can see in the featured image above. The iconic start screen for Pokémon: Red Version is perhaps the most recognisable, though I'm a huge fan of the design showing a Pokédex entry for Mewtwo, complete with a little Mew on the bottom at the back of the shirt.

There's a Pikachu with a hidden Raichu easter egg inside the pocket, and a design that shows Pokémon from each of the 8 gym leaders' teams that comes complete with the 8 Kanto gym badges on the sleeve. I love this set, and yes, I'll definitely try to buy all 4 of them if I can!

There are also kids' shirts that add a bit of colour into the mix - monochrome is for boring adults like me, after all. I'm a big fan of the Gengar shirt on the end; we need that in adult sizes, too!

The Adult tees are priced at ¥1,990, which comes out at about $12.67/£9.30. The children's tees are priced at ¥990, which works out at around $6.30/£4.63. At those prices, these tees are an absolute bargain!

The collections are scheduled for release in late July, so keep your eyes peeled on the Uniqlo website and get your orders in as quickly as you can before they end up on eBay for 8 times the price!
