I know what you're thinking - is there nothing that doesn't play DOOM these days. But hold that thought for a second, because this gaming PC from Maingear is absolutely phenomenal. Before I get into the nitty gritty of the inside of the PC, just take a look at the outside casing. It looks like it's been made from Doom Guy's melted down battle suit and helmet and is choc-a-block with features that hardcore DOOM fans will eat up.
You really do get the impression from seeing the innards of this computer that it's powered by the forces of hell itself. Red lights, eerie symbols; it's a DOOM fans dream devices, complete with custom graphics to complete the whole package. But the best bit (other than the fact that it's a super powerful gaming PC), is that gameplay from the original DOOM game plays continually on the computer's cooler.

I know how mad that sounds and that it's probably a little unnecessary, but so was putting DOOM on a lawnmower or inside a playable PDF, and we all loved those! Yes, according to Yanko Design, the computer has a TRYX Panorama SE 360 AiO liquid cooler that has been branded by Maingear as (and you'll love this bit), 'the unholy trinity of cooling power, silence, and style.' I mean, any cooler that continually shows gameplay of a game from 1993 automatically becomes the best in the business, right? It's super silent too, which considering the number of demons appearing on it is a pretty impressive feat!

I know we're a retro gaming site, but while I'm here, I should probably talk hardware. Put it this way, you'll be able to emulate the original DOOM with ease on this thing - you can choose from AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D through to Ryzen 9 9950X3D processors, alongside NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5000 graphics cards. There are memory options up to 64GB of DDR5 RAM and up to 2TB of game storage.
I don't have a high-end gaming PC, simply because I live in a world where the N64 is still the cream of the crop. But if I was going to add one into my setup, you can guarantee it would look like this. Yes, my dog Bilbo would probably become transfixed by the constant DOOM loop and try to get to it, but that's a price I'm willing to pay.
So, how much would one of these PCs set you back?

Well, I don't want to say the prices are hellish, but I'm thinking it. There are only 50 of these DOOM Edition PCs with prices starting at $1,999. The aptly named 'HURT ME PLENTY', 'ULTRA VIOLENCE', and 'NIGHTMARE' editions are priced at $2,999, $3,999, and $5,999 respectively. Head to the Maingear website for more information!
