I know this sounds a little like Game Boy inception, but hear me out. A solo developer called FengShuiAvenger has taken to the internet to show off their fan-made recreation of Crash Bandicoot for the Game Boy Advance in a hand-pixelled art style. The video they've shared shows a clip of a Yeti chase level which looks very much like the Yeti Chase from the existing Crash GBA game 'Crash Bandicoot: The Huge Adventure'.
FengShuiAvenger has stated that their fangame 'Crash Bandicoot Twisted' almost has a full version of their ice level finished, and while the original version for the GBA has a little more 'mild panic' to it, this pixel recreation looks very cutesy and as though it could be a Game Boy Color game. I'm going to assume that this is a game where pre-existing fan favourite levels are given the pixel-art treatment in a kind of 'best of' game.
Check out the video of their progress below.
Um solo dev está criando uma versão de fã do Crash Bandicoot para GBA e lançou esse vídeo mostrando como está a fase da perseguição do Yeti. A arte é fantástica!

You can see the original version of the Yeti chase in the YouTube video below. The new pixel art style that FengShuiAvenger has implemented has such a unique look to it - like cel-shaded artwork, it has a longevity that far surpasses its shelf life. It's a great achievement too, especially considering the fact that this has been done by hand too.
Some people have criticised the fact that you can't see too far ahead, making gameplay tough. But to be honest, these chase levels were always meant to be tricky and cause us to replay levels again and again until we knew them like the back of our hands.
I don't know how long we'll have to wait until we get a full playable version of the level, but you can keep up to date with FengShuiAvenger on Reddit.
