What happens if you mix two of the greatest arcade games of all time together in the ultimate crossover? Tetris and Space Invaders are teaming up for a month-long crossover that combines both elements of the gameplay.
It's mad to see two titles that have competed for attention over the years joining up together in one place. It feels a little like Nintendo and Sony teaming up for a game when they've been at loggerheads for years. It's a war of two worlds that we're more than happy about, and there are different stages to the month that you need to put in your calendar.
The first 12 days of April are classed as the 'Days of Invaders', a 12-day-long activity where players can log in and obtain sticker images after racking up awards. It's almost like a little bit of a tease into the invasion, getting you prepped for stages 2 and 3.
From April 13-23, we enter the Earth Protection Event (this is getting serious!). Tetris will join with the environmental platform Dots.Eco to build donations through gameplay that will help to change the world for the wildlife that live in it. If players complete the levels that have been set out for them, then Tetris will make a donation, so essentially, you've got no excuse not to play!
Then finally, we've got the final showdown, the invasion to end all invasions. For 6 days between the 24th and 30th of April, there will be a limited-time competition mode for players to experience the Tetris-Space Invaders crossover, giving them a chance to win cool items.
The event has officially started today, so head to the App Store or Google Play Store to download and get gaming.
