Tetris Release True Wireless Sound Earphones Exclusively On Nintendo Store

A set of Tetris branded earpods

I'm no stranger to seeing Tetris branding on lots of different things in my line of work. Over the past couple of years, I've seen a 7-Eleven slushy cup handheld and even a McChicken Nugget boasting the famous Tetromino shapes, and now Tetris have announced via their official Instagram channel that they have released a new set of wireless earbuds exclusively via the Nintendo Online Store in the UK and Europe.

They're called the True Wireless Sound Earphones and look very much like a pair of Apple AirPods, albeit at a fraction of the price. According to the official description, they are 'a perfect fusion of gaming nostalgia and cutting-edge audio technology. Inspired by classic slider mobile phones, these earphones offer a familiar look and feel while delivering crystal-clear sound.'

I mean, that all sounds hard to argue with, right? Who doesn't want crystal clear sound while they're gaming or listening to music? They even come with multi-colour changing LED lights that pump along with your favourite songs, all for the affordable price of £29.99.

As to why they're exclusively available on the Nintendo Store, I'm guessing that this is going to be something that a lot of people will add to their baskets when buying a Switch 2. I'm a huge music nerd, however, and I worry that as they only cost £29.99, these headphones might sound like an old pair of iPhone wired headphones that we used to get back in the day. You know, the ones that somehow made traffic noise seem louder instead of blocking it out. Still, if they're good for under £30, they'd make a great pair of earpods to just keep in my bag for gaming on the go. Looks like I'm putting them in my basket to find out (damn you, nostalgic Tetris branding!).
