Can you believe that we've already had 30 years of Quake? It's mad to think that id Software launched this game over 3 decades ago, and now we're getting a brand new episode with a whole new plot as a free update.

If you own Quake (Enhanced) released back in 2021 on XBOX Series X/S, XBOX One, PC, Steam, Nintendo Switch 2 (via backwards compatibility), Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, or PlayStation 4, then the update will be available as a free download for you to enjoy!
We just released a brand-new free episode for @Quake (Enhanced), Dawn of the Machine, to celebrate the 30th anniversary of a game that means so much to everyone at our studio. Available now!

Dawn of the Machine comes from MachineGames, who have teamed up with id Software to celebrate 30 years of Quake in the best way possible. This episode follows Dimension of the Machine and Dimensions of the Past, and according to the Bethesda release notes, delivers 'ferocious combat, labyrinthine level design, and nightmarish realms that twist reality beyond recognition.'

The new episode sees Ranger stuck in a dimension of endless illusion. He lives the same terrifying cycle on repeat in Quake's version of Groundhog Day, dying again and again as he tries to find a way to escape. But the Nightmare Machine might provide an answer, and it's the only thing keeping him going. Can he destroy it and break his own personal nightmare?
Once you've updated your copy of Quake, you can play either solo or with a friend in cooperative multiplayer! Happy gaming, and thanks, MachineGames!
