Sony have revealed the latest batch of classic PlayStation titles arriving on PlayStation Plus in April with MediEvil and Alone In The Dark: The New Nightmare leading the way.

The news comes from a post on the PlayStation Blog, where Adam Michel, Sony Interactive Entertainment’s Director of Content Acquisitions & Operations, confirmed the list of games heading to the PlayStation Plus Premium tier on the 16th of April 2024.

MediEvil and Alone In The Dark: The New Nightmare will launch at the same time as Star Wars: Rebel Assault II. We previously discovered that Star Wars: Rebel Assault II would appear in the April update of Sony’s top-tier subscription service at the end of March when a listing for the game appeared on the PlayStation store tracking website psdeals.net.

The PlayStation version of MediEvil will mark the third iteration of Sony’s popular hack-and-slash game to appear on PlayStation Plus, with the PSP remake MediEvil Resurrection and the 2019 PS4 remake already available to subscribers. It seems that the original MediEvil will ship with trophy support after the trophy list was discovered by truetrophies.com.

In addition to the digital ports, the classic titles will also feature save states, custom video filters, and the ability to rewind during gameplay.

Gamers who subscribe to the Premium tier of PlayStation Plus can download all three titles from the 16th of April 2024.

Extra! Extra!

While I prioritise coverage of the classic games that appear on PlayStation Plus, the monthly Extra updates also often contain a bevy of great titles for subscribers to enjoy, with April continuing that trend.

April’s PS+ Extra update includes a couple of well-received LEGO games with LEGO Marvel’s Avengers and LEGO Ninjago Movie Videogame joining the service for plenty of co-op brick-building fun.

Elsewhere, Tales of Kenzera: Zau, the poignant single-player Metroidvania from actor Abubakar Salim releases day one onto PlayStation Plus Extra, as does Dave The Diver, the fishing RPG full of humour and gorgeous pixel art that will undoubtedly get its hooks into retro gamers.
