One Of Our Favourite Game Boy Advance Games Has Arrived On Nintendo Switch Online

Fire Emblem on the GBA

Nintendo Switch Online is the gift that keeps on giving, with Ninty dropping random games for us on a regular basis to keep us occupied until GameCube games arrive on the Nintendo Switch 2. I get excited about all of the drops because it's always something nice for me to revisit, but the fact that Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones has arrived on the Switch is cause for me to take the day off and replay it until my eyes won't stay open anymore.

Not only is the Sacred Stones one of the greatest GBA games for our favourite portable purple powerhouse, but it's also one of the most influential Fire Emblem games and the core behind many of the F.E ROM hacks on the scene too.

For those of you who haven't played it, it's a game for those who love a tactical title, something where you really have to get your grey cells working through an RPG adventure designed to test you as though you were a military general. This was only the second Fire Emblem game to be released outside of Japan so it was pretty revolutionary for us gamers in the west. It holds a special place in my heart as the last F.E title on the GBA too, and battling friends over local link-up was always super fun.

Battle through Renais and rebuild it back to your former glory as you guide the royal heirs on their journey. If one of your team is defeated, there's no getting them back, so you'll need to be careful, take your time, and not rush in all swords swinging!

Head to Nintendo Switch Online for more details about the different packages if you're not subscribed already!
