You guys know how much I love Ocarina of Time. It's my favourite N64 game of all time, and whenever there's anything that pays homage to it or reimagines it in the retro space, I get excited. So, imagine my surprise when looking through X this morning, I came across someone stating that they were sitting on the only Game Boy Color version of Ocarina of Time.

Naturally, it needs to be mine, and it needs to happen now.

Artist and Gamer @chocovania has shown gameplay of Ocarina of Time for the Game Boy Color. It shows a scene of Link walking into the Temple of Time and playing his Ocarina, Navi floating around his head all the time.

The music is a true 8-bit rendition of the Temple of Time theme too, with 8-bit Ocarina sounds when Link plays the Song of Time. It's a handheld Zelda fan's dream, especially when the video goes onto the inventory screen.

Bottles, Deku Nuts, the Boomerang, and the Slingshot - it's all recreated in 8-bit perfection. I can just imagine Link pulling out the Kokiri Sword and some 8-bit Deku Sticks to go into battle.

There's no word on how long it will take to finish this demake or how much chocovania has already completed, but as soon as this is finished, I'll be quitting my job and spending all of my time playing it.
