The Miyoo Flip has been in development for a very long time now, I first covered it here on Retro Dodo back in October 2023, that’s almost a year since it leaked, so I was excited to see that Miyoo’s official X account teased the new trailer for the device.
The trailer reveals the finalised design which looks close to a Game Boy Advance SP except with dual analogue sticks, four shoulder buttons, with 4 intriguing colours to choose from and a Cortex A55 CPU to emulate your retro games.
Miyoo are one the few companies in the handheld emulator space that don’t release a handheld every single month, their most popular being the Miyoo Mini which is a remarkable mini device that was and still is loved by many.

The same customers are excited about this new Miyoo Flip, because who doesn’t like a clamshell device of this calibre? Miyoo are renowned for creating high quality, mid-tier retro handhelds that are portable in nature with some very clean UI, so I am hoping this will follow the same steps.
The trailer shows only the physical nature of the device, without release dates or pricing, but from experience once a trailer is made and publicly uploaded a pre-order page/date comes after within a few days or weeks, so prepare yourself, as Miyoo does have a history of going out of stock with their products.
The design will undoubtedly be a popular one in the niche, the RG35XXSP has sold very well since release, but it’s not perfect and lacks a decent UI… and analogue sticks for those that want them, so this could be a good alternative for those that have been patient this year.
I’ll keep you updated in our news section with any more Miyoo Flip news.
