The first new Booster Pack for Pokémon TCGP has been unveiled on social media, and it’s coming in a matter of days. Mystic Island launches on December 17th and brings some exciting new cards to collect such as Mew EX which, with its Genome Hacking move could put a real spanner in the works for Dragonite and Venusaur Deck users, not to mention Charizard with its powerful 200 attack! The fact that it can be used with any energy too means that it could easily slot into any of your decks – things are about to get interesting!

There are lots of other new cards dropping too such as Aerodactyl EX which has an attack that doesn’t rely on flipping a coin and luck this time, and I really like the artwork for the Vaporeon card. Snivy and Dhelmise make an appearance in the new booster as well as new artwork for Magmar and Taurus.

Obviously, Mew is going to be the card everyone wants, but the inclusion of the Trainer Blue card is a nice nostalgic nod back to the early days and a card that could quickly change the sway of a battle. It makes your opponent’s Pokémon do -10 damage on their next turn, which could give you the upper hand by giving you enough HP to land another blow that wins the match – very clever!

New Solo battles are arriving next week too, giving us even more reason to keep playing the game. As if I need more reasons; I can’t put my phone down these days! Check out the launch video above, and we’ll see you in the battle arena on December 17th!
