When you're Matt Groening, you kind of have the right to announce anything Simpsons-related without getting anyone else's approval, right? That seems to be exactly what's happened at a recent Simpsons panel when a fan asked Groening if there was another Hit and Run game coming.

And you can understand why they asked the question - it's been 23 years since Hit & Run released, and while the Simpsons' Fortnite events help to bring the same feeling, albeit with more gunfire and a lot more players, there's nothing quite like the real thing, is there? It's one of the games I go back to time and time again, and it seems like the OG game is returning in some form thanks to a bit of a slip-up by Matt Groening.

It looks like Matt Selman tried to do a bit of damage control, but according to Empire Magazine, the news is already out there! Let's hope we're getting a remastered version asap, though I guess it would make sense to release it on the game's 25th anniversary in a couple of years time... man, I'm getting old!
