As part of today’s Nintendo Direct, we have an exciting announcement about a brand new entry in the Mario Vs Donkey Kong franchise.
We first saw the Mario Vs DK saga on the Game Boy Advance back in 2004.
It was a fun mix of platforming and puzzle game play. Combining the best of a Super Mario Bros. title as well as the original Donkey Kong games.
We saw several follow up entries on the Nintendo DS, and one of them made our list of the best Mario Games on Nintendo DS.
But with it now being over eight years since our last entry, it’s about time to continue the battle between two of our most beloved Nintendo heroes.
Mario Vs Donkey Kong
The game play of the new entry looks similar to what we’ve know the franchise for in the past. But obviously with current generation 2D Mario graphics, much like the New Super Mario Bros. series.
And the puzzles look absolutely incredible. It looks like we’re gonna spend a good amount of time trying to determine exactly how to progress.
But it won’t be an easy journey, as we have a grumpy Donkey Kong doing everything he can to stop your progress.
We are looking forward to seeing more from this game, and it will be a nice followup to Super Mario Bros. Wonder later this year. You know we love to keep the Mario games flowing on our Nintendo system.
Release Information
Mario Vs Donkey Kong will be available on the Nintendo Switch starting on February 16th, 2024.
And pre-orders for the digital version are available on the Nintendo eshop stating today!
