We've been patiently waiting for more details on the LEGO Game Boy ever since the news dropped earlier this year. Two of our biggest passions combined into one nostalgic set - what's not to love! Well, LEGO have now officially revealed the new set complete with two game cartridges and epic lenticular screens that can be swapped in and out to recreate the feeling of gameplay!

The Game Boy set can be yours for the highly affordable sum of $59.99, with pre-orders available on Amazon now or £54.99 from the official LEGO store.

For those of you wanting to get to know the set better, its official LEGO item number is #72046, it's 421 pieces, and it's part of LEGO's range of collectibles aimed towards adults. Yes, the Game Boy was a toy, but this is definitely a collector's piece, not something you would give to your kids to mess around with.

That being said, the buttons do move, so you can still mime playing your old DMG if you don't have one anymore. The set also comes with Game Cartridges of Super Mario Land and The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening, two of the greatest Game Boy games around. They don't actually play games as the video above shows (I'll come onto that in a second too), but the lenticular screens give the impression that they do. If you're unsure what that means, they're like those magic images that move as you tilt them or walk past them.

For those of you new to the Game Boy, the video above is a recreation of the original Game Boy advert that aired when the handheld launched in America. Instead of playing with 'portable power', LEGO have added their spin to the advert and given us 'brick power' and a robot made out of LEGO. There's so much nostalgia to this set that it makes me want to buy one for every room in the house!
