Everything We Know About Kingdom Hearts 4 So Far
So, we’ve all seen the Kingdom Hearts trailer, and there’s a lot to unpack from a clip that’s just under 4 minutes long.
Where do we start?
How about with the two hooded guys that we can towards the end of the clip.

Those of you that know your Kingdom Hearts will undoubtedly recognise the Master of Masters. We’re guessing that he’s the one on the right of the image with his hands behind his back – it’s the kind of stance that he would take, after all.
But who is the second hooded figure? Perhaps an apprentice, a new Foreteller the Master of Masters is training up?
And what is the world Sora finds himself in?
Well, many of you will actually have seen it before. It’s called Quadratum, and players previously experienced it through the Toy Story Toy Box video game.
It also featured in the DLC and in a super secret ending in the original KH3 game.

And what are Donald and Goofy up to? Where are they heading, and who has scared them?
Well, in the trailer we see a blue flame popping up. Who do we know who has a blue flame in the Disney universe?
It can only be Hades, right? How does all of this tie together, and does Hades have anything to do with the giant demon that Sora is fighting in Quadratum?
We know that Kingdom Hearts 4 is in development; we wouldn’t even have a trailer if it wasn’t.
But what are the rumours surrounding the new title?
The Main Kingdom Hearts 4 Rumours

The main rumour for Kingdom Hearts 4 is that Sora is about to head into the Star Wars Universe, with the trailer showing what looks to be the Forest Moon of Endor as one of the playable areas.
Yes, there has been a lot of speculation as to whether Disney and Marvel would join the next Kingdom Hearts game now that they’ve been bought by Disney. That means that we could be about to see Luke, Darth Vader, General Grievous, Han Solo, and many more characters joining the fray.
Not to mention Iron Man, The Hulk, Captain America, and the gang!
Perhaps Kylo Ren is in one of those hooded robes; that would be amazing!
Kingdom Hearts already has a lot of crossovers in it apart from the obvious Final Fantasy and main Disney characters mix that the games are famous for. We had the Caribbean from Pirates of the Caribbean in Kingdom Hearts 3, so why not have Endor and maybe even Hoth in the new game?
Speaking of the Final Fantasy Mix, however, one of the other rumours is that there might not be any FF characters in Kingdom Hearts 4 at all!
Japanese video game artist and one of the creators of Kingdom Hearts Tetsuya Nomura says that the future of FF characters in the 4th Kingdom Hearts game is ‘uncertain’, so I guess we’ll need to wait until we actually play the game to spot them all in action!
And Donald and Goofy?
Well it looks like they’re looking for Sora, but are they in the underworld like we’re assuming thanks to the inclusion of Hades, or is Hades just following them to make things more difficult?
What Platforms Will Kingdom Hearts 4 Release On?

Kingdom Hearts 4 is set to be released on all major platforms including Nintendo Switch. It will also be available on the PS4 and Windows PCs.
That means that no matter what console or device you game on, Square Enix and Disney have you covered.
Let us know which system you’ll be playing on over on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram!
Kingdom Hearts 4 Gameplay

Sora runs through a street brandishing his iconic Keyblade in the Kingdom Hearts 4 trailer, using it to chain-jump his way up towards a massive demon’s face.
The gameplay we’ve seen thus far is mostly battle oriented, with Sora attacking the demon and then sliding down through a piece of fallen skyscraper, a scene that looked absolutely phenomenal.
Other than that, we don’t know much about the exploration elements of the game, but it’s a Square Enix title, so we know it’s going to be absolutely massive.
The whole thing has a bit of a feel of Shadow of the Colossus about it, and while Kingdom Hearts 3 was semi-open world thanks to the Gummi Ship, we’re wondering whether the new game will be even more open world when it comes to exploration?
Kingdom Hearts 4 Characters

There have been a possible 7 characters loosely confirmed for Kingdom Hearts 4 including Donald Duck, Goofy, and Darkside. But the character we’re most excited about other than Sora is Strelitzia.
Strelitzia is a bit of an enigma, and her story is very fascinating. In fact, many people think that she’s a new character to the series and have wondered what part she had to play in KH4 after the trailer dropped.
Well, she’s actually a Keyblade wielder that appeared in Kingdom Hearts Union X, a fact that the mobile gamers out there will know all too well. According to the lore, she was active after the first keyblade war and answered to the Master of Masters.
Her story happens before Goofy and Donald team up with Sora, and we’re looking forward to finding out more as to why she’s here with Sora now and what that means for his story arc going forward.
Kingdom Hearts 4 Release Date

Kingdom Hearts 4 is likely to be released in Fall 2024.
We know that the game is definitely being developed, but we also know that the Goofy voice actor still has to record his lines. The DLC for Kingdom Hearts 3 came out in 2020, so a 4 year development time for the new game seems achievable to get everything tied up.
What Is Kingdom Hearts?
Kingdom Hearts is a role-playing game developed boy Square Enix and Disney. It combines the world of Final Fantasy and Disney, mixing characters from both franchises.
The main character Sora wields a key, and he explores new worlds with none other than Donald Duck and Goofy.
And yes, it’s as amazing as it sounds!
Is Sora Human?
Sora is a human, but he was originally supposed to be a cross between a human and a lion. His weapon was supposed to be a chainsaw too, not the keyblade.
I don’t know about you, but that would have made the game a heck of a lot weirder. I mean, can you imagine watching the Lion King with Simba wielding power tools. It just woudln’t work!
Is Kingdom Hearts 3 Open World?
Kingdom Hearts 3 is semi-open world thanks to the inclusion of a craft called the Gummi Ship. The Gummi Ship allows players to travel between the different playable worlds.
So, it’s not exactly BotW, but it’s incredibly big.
Will Sora Be In Kingdom Hearts 4?
Sora is the main protagonist in Kingdom Hearts 4. He looks a lot more realistic now then he did on the PS2, however, and doesn’t seem to be wearing big yellow boots 18 sizes too big for him.
Yes, Sora is back along with Donald and Goofy and a lot of other memorable faces. We’ve yet to see if Mickey is going to make an appearance though!
Will Kingdom Hearts 4 Be On Xbox?
Kingdom Hearts will be available to buy on Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. Kingdom Hearts 3 was available on the platform, so we see no reason why the new game won’t be available to Xbox gamers.
What Is The Kingdom Hearts 4 Release Date?
Kingdom Hearts 4 should be hitting game shop shelves in Fall 2024.
In the meantime, why not check out the story of how Kingdom Hearts 1 came together!
