Back in October 2024, we wrote an article about Green Day celebrating 30 years of Dookie by releasing the album on some of the weirdest mediums known to humankind. They demade all 15 tracks on the 1994 album to each be played in a way that they were never meant to be heard, with each variant being a highly limited edition and only available to fans in the US.
A toothbrush, a '1-of-1' Big Mouth Billy Bass, and a doorbell were just some of the items you could get with the album on it, along with 25 Game Boy Carts featuring the album's artwork on the front and one track, 'Welcome to Paradise' ready to play through your trusty DMG. It's a true Green Day and Game Boy collectible that, as the packaging explains, 'may induce teary-eyed nostalgia for what once was and never again will be.'

It's also now become one of the rarest and most expensive Game Boy games of all time after selling at auction for a whopping $2,638, which is around £1951!
The sealed Game Boy cart sold on eBay over the weekend, giving the owner a Sunday that they will probably never forget. It was Number 3 of 25, so I can only imagine the amount that the 1st printed cart will bring if that ever arrives on eBay.

The fact that Green Day Demastered items are cropping up on second-hand sites will certainly give fans around the world a chance to own pieces of the limited-edition memorabilia, albeit for an extortionate price tag. Still, if you love Green Day, is there any money you wouldn't pay to own something so rare? Floppy Disks of the album sell for around $400, with the only minidisc version of the album to sell on eBay so far bringing $1070 at auction... so I guess if your answer is 'over $400', then you might need to do a bit of saving up!
