I know we’ve already covered how to get Gimmighoul, but what we didn’t tell you is how to get Shiny Gimmigoul in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet. Well, wonder no more, as I’m about to right that wrong!
As you might have already guessed, catching this rare ‘mon is only possible due to the upcoming Tera Raid event, which will take place between 21st of June and 2nd July.
However, if you think this is going to be the standard Tera Raid format, there’s actually a couple of surprises in store for you to help keep these events fresh for both new and returning players.

How To Get Shiny Gimmighoul In Pokemon Scarlet & Violet
To get a Shiny Gimmigoul, you need to participate in a 5-Star Tera Raid Battle from the 21st of June until the 2nd of July 2023.
Unfortunately, there is a catch: there’s no guarantee you’ll encounter a Shiny Gimminghoul. Your chances are improved, but only slightly.
What is more, it’s only the 5-Star Tera Raids that give you the chance to catch Shiny Gimmighoul.
If this seems unfair, don’t forget that finding Shiny Pokemon in general is a lot harder than discovering regular forms, and so this mechanic is quite fitting.
Before you despair, there’s the silver lining that every Gimmighoul you encounter will be in its Chest Form, and have a unique Tera Type. This is true of any Tera Raid you take part in, no matter its star rating.
Now you know the conditions of the event, don’t forget to visit the Poke Portal in game to download the latest Poke Portal News. Without doing this, you won’t trigger the event.
Once this is done, sparkling Tera Crystals will appear on your map (as shown below); head to them to start your battle!
