Porygon has always ben a bit of an enigma… least of all because I always want to call it Polygon…

This trippy bird has always fascinated me. And how long has it been around for anyway? Pokemon Legends: Arceus is set before the forming of Sinnoh, yet here it still is.

Is Porygon the oldest Pokemon ever?

I digress… we’re not here to talk about whether Porygon is the father of the Matrix. We’re here to figure out how to evolve Porygon2 in Pokemon Legends: Arceus.

Where To Find Porygon In Pokemon Legends: Arceus?

How To Evolve Porygon2 In Pokemon Legends: Arceus - Porygon in action

Porygon appears within Space-Time Distortions in Pokemon Legends: Arceus. It’s not an easy Pokemon to find, what with the Space-Time Distortions being completely random.

Unfortunately, that means you’re going to have to be incredibly patient… something that I’m not very good at, it has to be said.

Still, don’t give up hope just yet.

Players looking to bag a Porygon need to head to the Crimson Mirelands. Once you’ve beaten Kleavor, the first Noble Pokemon in the game, completed all the missions up to level 8 and then embarked on level 8 itself, you can begin looking.

Long story short, you need to have unlocked the distortion mechanic.

Then, it’s just a case of wandering around the Crimson Mirelands until you spot a distortion, entering it it, and keeping your fingers crossed until you discover whether there’s a Porygon in it.

Look in the Holm of Trials, around Ursa’s Ring, Droning Meadow, Gapejaw Bog, and across the river from the Bolderoll Slope.

How To Evolve Porygon In Pokemon Legends: Arceus?

Porygon evolves into Porygon2 using the Upgrade item.

What, no link cable and trading?

Gone are the days where Pokemon had to be traded while holding a specific item in order to be evolved. And let’s face it; it’s not something that any of us are going to miss.

All players need to do is to give Porygon the Upgrade item, and it will immediately evolve into Porygon 2

Where to Find Porygon2 In Pokemon Legends: Arceus?

Porygon2 hangs out in all the same places as Porygon and Porygon-Z, again in Space-Time Distortions.

There’s no rhyme nor reason to how, when, or where they appear. Just keep trying and spend a good chunk of time dipping in and out of those distortions!

How To Evolve Porygon2 In Pokemon Legends: Arceus?

Porgon2 evolves into Porygon-Z by using the Dubious Disc, another item that brings about an instant evolution.

Just give Porygon2 the Disc, and voila!

And the best part is that players don’t need to level up Porygon2 either. It’s possible to take Porygon all the way to Porygon2 and Porygon-Z without any waiting so long as you have the relevant items!

Finding The Upgrade Item And The Dubious Disc

As always, the upgrade item and dubious disc appear in that majesty of shops; the Trading Post in Jubilife Village.

If you want to bag them, you’ll need to spend merit points. Rack them up by collecting Lost Satchels throughout the world.

Both items also drop out of Space-Time Distortions too. So, if you’re dipping in and out to find Porygon and his pals, then you might well come across the Upgrade Item and Dubious Disc in the process.

And that’s time!

Thanks for checking out our article on how to evolve Porygon2 in Pokemon Legends: Arceus. It might not involve gambling in Team Rocket’s arcade, but hopefully you found it exciting enough!
