As much as I enjoyed showing you how to beat Mucktorok in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, this is by far one of the most important guides I’ll ever write: how to customise your horse in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom.
Let’s face it, it’s not just Link who we want looking stylish, it’s our mount too. I know it’s all too easy to accidentally kill your horse, but while it’s in the landing of the living it needs to look its best.
I’m sure you already know that you can add a towing harness to your mount, but that’s only scratching the surface of what we can do. If you’re ready to take the leap into horse fashion, it’s time for us to pimp our ride!
How To Unlock Horse Customisation In Zelda Tears Of The Kingdom
To unlock horse customisation, you need to collect 16 Pony Points by visiting Stables across Hyrule, then exchange these points to receive your reward.
It’s a pretty straightforward process. However, it’s easy to miss out on points even when using the services at a Stable. This is because you’ll sometimes have Sleepover Tickets to use instead of Rupees.
Although these tickets will save you money, which is in short supply in Hyrule, it also means you won’t gain any Pony Points (aka PPs); the only way to get points is to pay for any services used.
To keep the impact on your Rupees to a minimum, always choose the cheapest bed available. You can also obtain PPs by visiting a new Stable (talk to the receptionist to trigger this), and when you register a new mount.
How To Customise Your Horse In Zelda Tears Of The Kingdom
To begin customising your horse, speak with a receptionist at any Stable and select ‘Customize Horse’. You’ll then be able to alter three of its features, including its mane.
Here’s the full list of alterations you can make:
- Equipment
- Bridle
- Mane
It might not seem like a lot, but as you continue to collect PPs, you’ll unlock new saddles and bridles you can show off. And as for your horse’s mane, there’s plenty of options to keep your mount looking as fresh as Link.
My personal favourite is the Floral Mane. But there’s other great choices, like Mohawk, Braided, and a variety of different colours. Have you always wanted a horse with a bright pink mane? Of course you have, and now you can make it happen!
Whilst Hyrule is falling apart all around you, and Link tries desperately to save it, it’s great to be able to take time out and just enjoy the wonders of fashion.
Hopefully, my how to customise your horse in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom guide has unlocked a new passion within you.
But just in case you’d rather sink your teeth into more serious endeavours, I also have guides on how to beat Master Kohga in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, and how to solve Makasura Shrine in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom as well.
