After news of the complete remake of Halo: Combat Evolved coming to PC, Xbox, and PS5 in the new Halo: Campaign Evolved release, a well-known leaker has claimed that Halo 2 and 3 will also be getting the same treatment, getting remade from the ground up.
The latest rumour posted by Halo Leaks page @leaks_infinite on X claims that Halo 2 and 3 are getting full remakes in the same vein as Halo: Campaign Evolved. The rumour states that they will only have the main campaign mode in each game, however, with no multiplayer option. A new Halo 7 title dedicated to multiplayer is said to be coming to resolve this.
Halo 2 & Halo 3 are being remade, yes they will have sprint. No multiplayer, only campaign. Full remakes.

Now, I need to stress that even though @infinite_leaks is a notable source for Halo leaks, none of this information can be taken with 100% certainty. Still, it all sounds pretty promising and exactly what I would do if I were working for Microsoft.
I'm trying to work out whether Halo Studios are angry about these latest Halo leaks finding their way onto the internet, or whether they're helping to keep the people excited and in turn keep Xbox relevant as a games producer. After news of them putting the final nail in the coffin with regard to Xbox exclusivity after bringing Halo to PS5, it seems as though their console days are almost done (they're going the same way as Sega, something I've been saying for years now). Halo seems to be the way they're leading this charge, and I hope for their sake that the people are still excited enough by the Master Chief, especially off the back of the cancelled TV series making waves on Netflix after leaving Paramount.
The new Halo 2 and 3 remakes will supposedly have sprint and mother modern movement mechanics to give them a 'quality of life' upgrade. And if the graphics are anywhere near as good as what we've seen of the Halo: Combat Evolved remake, they'll be an absolute joy to play! Time will tell whether these rumours are true, though I can't imagine Halo Studios will respond to them until the release of Halo: Campaign Evolved next year, perhaps waiting till after they've discovered how well the first remake has sold. Watch this space!
