The GoRetroid team have been fairly silent over the last few months, removing the Pocket Flip from their store and apparently, working on a new Dock for their Retroid Pocket 4 Pro.
This comes shortly after their social team teased a song lyric on their X account, mentioning the word “dock”, and now it has been officially revealed alongside images and a potential release date for “before next weekend”.
It’s called the “Retroid Official Dock” and features 7-in-1 USB to USB-C dock featuring HDMI Out allowing it to connect to your TV or Display up to 4K @ 60FPS, 2xUSB 2.0 and 2xUSB3.0.
Not only that, it will also features a Ethernet port to connect it directly to your home’s internet system should you be playing internet intensive Android games for example, or if you want to watch 4K Retro Dodo videos without hiccups!
Unfortunately, this dock will ONLY work with the Retroid Pocket 4 Pro as it’s the only device with a USB-C Display Port.
The display itself looks very high quality, and looks as if it could be made with metal, but again, this is still unknown. The USB-C port itself looks like it can be adjusted to fit a multitude of devices, speculating that it will work with future handhelds too?
Who knows it may also work with handhelds from other manufactures too, if they happen to have the USB-C slot on the bottom, much like the ANBERNIC RG556.
There are extra grips around the port too, and likely on the bottom of the dock to keep it secure and in place upon your desk setup.
The dock will cost just $29.90 which is very reasonable in my opinion, and likely meaning that it is indeed not made of metal and instead plastic.
