I can remember playing Navy Seals on the Game Boy DMG as a kid while on holiday with my parents. It's not a good game by any stretch of the imagination, but it was a bit more 'gnarly' than some of the other titles in my collection, like Mario and Yoshi or Super Mario Land 2.

I was a big James Bond fan as a kid too, and when GoldenEye 007 came out and my mum bought it from a listing in the local paper, I was hooked. It's one of the greatest N64 games ever made for good reason, but what would it have looked like if it had been made for the Game Boy DMG?

Enter GoldenEye 2D, a demake made by Perfect Run of the N64 classic that takes Pierce Brosnan and gives him the 8-bit treatment. Your mission is to infiltrate a secret enemy comms center with the hope of being ' a 00-Agent' instead of 'a worthless Klobb'.

The demake runs on Windows 7, 8, and 10 as opposed to original hardware, with the gameplay taking on that cutesy feel of the Game Boy era while still channeling all things Bond. It feels a little like the Resident Evil Game Boy demake I covered not too long ago - just the right amount of tension with graphics that wouldn't offend your granny. Although even she wouldn't be happy with the number of enemies you have to dispatch!
